BAKO NATIONAL PARK

 

Bako National National Park is the oldest National Park in Sarawak and  is located on a jagged peninsula nestled between the mouths of the Sarawak and Bako River covering an are of 27-sq-km.

The coast of the peninsula consists of lovely pocket beaches, mangrove swamp, rainforest, sandstone plateau and a number of trekking and walking trails.

The park is notable for its incredible biodiversity, from pitcher plants to terrestrial orchids to bearded pigs, long-tailed macaques, and the probosics monkeys.

Bako National Park offers a number of jungle trails for trekking and visitors can also spend the night at the hostels and chalets provided by the park.
